Lunar Zebro is a student team with one mission: sending a rover to the Moon. Our members come from diverse backgrounds, nationalities, and universities.

Recruitment for the year 26/27 is now open! We are looking for new people in all departments. The first application round closes April 19th at 23:59.

Board Positions

Project Leader

POSITION ID BO-02

Description
As Project Leader, you will be chairing the Board. This means that you create a plan for the year alongside with all the members of the Board, monitoring the teams progress and reporting to Management. Other tasks that the Project Leader needs to achieve is organising Crew Meetings and ensuring that the team has sufficient advisor support.

Chief Engineer

POSITION ID BO-01

Description
As Chief Engineer, you will be involved with all aspects of the mission, while also being part of the Board. You will oversee the progress of every subsystem and ensure the quality of the integrated lunar rover design.

Internal Affairs Commissioner

POSITION ID BO-03

Description
Nothing is more important in a team than to ensure its proper functioning, especially for a team building a device that goes on the Moon! As Internal Affairs Commissioner, you will manage the team’s Human Resources. You will update and maintain streamlined recruitment, onboarding and offboarding procedures, as well as encourage team integrity through events, activities etc.

  • Being a TU Delft student is preferred but not required.

Head of Logistics

POSITION ID BO-04

Description
Head of Logistics is a position that deal with tasks of logistical and financial nature. This includes but is not restricted to managing the wide and expensive inventory of the team, making major orders for the team and acquiring licenses for the team members. Another major task of the Head of Logistics is making sure the members follow documentation guidelines and giving them access to the required software packages.

Description
A proper exposure is crucial for the progress and success of our mission. As Public Outreach Commissioner, you will form a strategy for promoting Lunar Zebro to the general public and potential partners. In addition, you will oversee and review the work of the Public Outreach Commission as a whole.

Public Outreach Commission

POSITION ID NTP-02

Description

A Space Mission – and especially one going to the Moon – requires great public outreach to spark the interest of the general public, recruit new students and accelerate key partnerships within the industry! For this, we are looking to reinforce the Public Outreach Commission with creative and enthusiastic students from various backgrounds.

Within the Commission, you could either specialise in what you already master, or gain experience in fields you domains always wanted to explore further. The skills sought after are amongst other:

  • Content Creation
  • Writing of articles/blogs/posts/stories
  • Graphic Design.
  • Filming and/or Video-Editing
  • Podcasting and/or Audio-Editing
  • 3D modelling and rendering
  • 2D/3D animation
  • VR/AR animation

With this list being non-extensive, you can come up with any other ideas that you may have! The main message is that if you want to participate in the creation of a Space mission’s public image, then do apply!

Requirements

  • Preferred minimum education level: 2nd-year bachelor student at University or HBO
  • Knowledge of the required quality software for your field of expertise (Adobe Suite for graphic designers, Blender or other tools for 3D rendering, etc) is not necessary, but would be a plus.

Systems Engineer

Thermal Engineer

Description
As a thermal engineer, you will work with your colleagues to

  • Create thermal models of the rover
  • Work with the testing team to create test procedures for TVAC testing
  • Design solutions to thermal problems found in models or testing

Mechanical Engineer

Description
As a mechanics engineer you will look into the physical design of the body of the rover. You will design new components or make edits to the existing designs. You will help prepare for the assembly and manufacturing. Next to this you will attend the weekly meetings and document your work.

Embedded Software Engineer

Navigation Software Engineer

Description

You will be supporting the navigation software development team in the development of the object recognition and avoidance, navigation, and swarm algorithms using sensor fusion (camera, IMU, and LiDAR).

Electronics Engineer

Description
You will join the Electronics department of Lunar Zebro. You will help with the design, production and testing of the terrestrial and lunar rover.

Full-Stack Software Engineer

Description
You will be part of a multidisciplinary Ground Segment team to develop and deploy a massive micro-service web system onto the cloud. You will:

Assembly, Integration & Testing Engineer (AIT)

POSITION ID AIT-01

Description

An AIT engineer has several areas of responsibility. They are first and foremost responsible for creating and performing test procedures according to (sub)system requirements and international standards. These tests range from small functional tests done in-house to bigger environmental tests at our partners’ facilities. This can also include using Lunar Zebro’s own testbed for simulating the lunar mission or analysing test results to find points of improvement in the design. They are also responsible for the assembly of the rover, for instance through making sure new designs fit, integrate with other components, and are easy to assemble.

Requirements

  • 2nd-year Bachelor student in an engineering discipline, or higher
  • Good knowledge in programming for data analysis (Python or similar) or eager to improve
  • Able to take initiative and be creative with finding solutions
  • Good at working in a multi-disciplinary group and communicating ideas and findings
