Enhancing Software Quality: Testing Methods and Circuit Checks
Software testing methodologies are strategies or procedures used to test an application to verify how it behaves and whether it appears as expected. These don’t only include unit and system testing but also testing of the front and back end of the system. Testing is crucial to guarantee the correct operation of every line of code. In a university project like Lunar Zebro, learning is just as vital as building a fully functional rover.
5 Principles for Software Development to go to the Moon
Through CHILL-ICE (Construction of a Habitat Inside a Lunar-Analogue Lava-tube) Analogue Astronaut Mission 2021, we have gone to the Moon and back!
Exploring the Invisible: The Role of Radiation Payload
Ionizing Radiation does not hinder our daily lives on Earth very much. On the Moon, it is an entirely different story. Electronics, materials and living organisms require protection and adaptations to be able to survive in the lunar radiation environment. Therefore, the first step is to understand space radiation, which is the science mission of Lunar Zebro.
Discovering Lunar Radiation Secrets: Dr. Menicucci’s Game-Changing Mission with Lunar Zebro
Dr. Alessandra Menicucci, Lunar Zebro’s Science Director, brings ESA experience to develop a radiation sensor, paving the way for future lunar missions and fostering project-oriented learning.
Build a Little, Test a Little: The Importance of Prototyping

IGLUNA Field Campaign 2021 Completion: The First Large-Scale Step towards Autonomous Swarming Rovers
After one year of working hard and semi-remotely, Lunar Zebro’s journey on the IGLUNA 2021 Field Campaign has been adjourned. Adjourned, not ended, as the team will resume this journey as soon as we return to our home base in Delft.
Exploring lava tubes to help future astronauts: We are joining CHILL-ICE!
With the ambition of supporting future human exploration of the Moon, the Lunar Zebro team is participating in EuroMoonMars’ simulated Moon mission, CHILL-ICE, in a lava tube in Iceland. One rover will be sent to the analogue astronaut crew, who will use it extensively to explore the tube. Besides validating the rover’s mobility on difficult terrain, the crew will gather novel data on the human-machine interface and on the considerations to take into account for future cave explorations. Covid circumstances permitting, the analogue mission is planned for the beginning of June 2021.
